LuLu’s Homeport Marina
Live Music, Good Food & Good Times in Gulf Shores
Jimmy Buffett’s sister Lucy Buffett has one of the most popular venues on the Alabama Gulf Coast in Gulf Shores – her restaurant, LuLu’s Homeport Marina, offers a combination of live music and southern cuisine that her made her a local celebrity in her own right. LuLu’s opened in 1999 under the bridge on Weeks Bay has since become a destination experience for more than 100,000’s of customers each year. Losing the lease at Weeks Bay location in 2002 was a catalyst for the for the current success. LuLu’s at Homeport Marina is now located off Hwy. 59 in Gulf Shores under the Intracoastal Bridge, and the restaurant bears a rooftop sign stating – “One Love, One Ocean.”
The open-air restaurant offers delicious Southern favorites like fish tacos and fried green tomatoes combined with live music nightly. There is an indoor stage and the “Crazy Sista” outdoor stage has hosted some great bands, including a surprise show by Freddy and the Fishsticks (aka Jimmy Buffett). The kids will have a ball playing in the sand while the adults relax at the outside bar, watching the yachts, boats and barges go by.
